Beach Cleanups in Small Cyclades

Since September 2022 under the framework of the Foundation’s Program Education & Environment, the Chatzigakis Foundation (CF team, volunteers and members of the Board) have carried out experiential education missions with activities on the field on different remote islands to increase environmental literacy among the school and local communities.

From 5 June until 8 June multi-layered activities will be carried out (beach-cleanups, tree-plantings, movie projections, book reading circles under the theme of ocean plastic pollution) in the Small Cyclades (islands of Donousa, Schinousa, Iraklia). In the activities preschool, school pupils, parents and members of the local communities are invited to participate. The beach-cleanups are also part of the EU Beach Clean Up 2023 Campaign.

The program has the support of esteemed partners such as the Agricultural University of Athens, the Institute of Agricultural Studies and is Under the Auspices of the Region of South Aegean.
