On 21 September, the EU Office in Taiwan (European Economic and Trade Office, EETO) joined forces with Taiwan's Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as EU Member States Offices in Taiwan to hold the annual beach cleanup event at Bali Beiti Beach in New Taipei City. Minister of Environment Peng Chi-ming, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Wu Chih-chung and officials from New Taipei City attended the event. This year, around 170 people, including friends and families of the colleagues participated. We are proud to announce that we collected 464 kilograms of waste from the beach! Head of the EETO Lutz Güllner expressed his pride in the EU’s annual beach clean-ups around the world and emphasised that the EU would continue to work with global partners, including Taiwan, to promote sustainable international ocean governance.
