EU Beach Cleanup: Sistema Dunar de El Rinconcillo

On 24 October 2025, a beach clean-up and environmental awareness day will take place at the El Rinconcillo Dune System (Algeciras) as part of the European campaign #EUBeachCleanup, within the framework of the World Cleanup Day and the World Day Against Climate Change. The activity, organised by the Environment Department of the Algeciras City Council and Fundación Unicaja, will involve students from Colegio Nuestra Señora de los Milagros, with around 100 participants from 3rd and 4th year of secondary school. From 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., participants will take part in beach cleaning, waste sorting, and practical workshops on recycling and environmental conservation. The goal is to raise environmental awareness and promote civic responsibility, encouraging sustainable habits and respect for nature. The event will also include a final reflection and the presentation of participation certificates. This initiative is part of the “Acción por la Basuraleza” programme and the international campaign promoted by the European Commission and the United Nations.
