Sunset Beach Cleanup 2025

The Sunset Beach Cleanup returns to Vila do Conde on September 20, as part of the World Cleanup Day, the EU Beach Cleanup Campaign, and the EU Climate Pact. Following the success of previous editions, this initiative once again aims to raise awareness about marine litter and the impact of microplastics, through activities open to the community. The event is organised by the Municipality of Vila do Conde, CIIMAR, CMIA Vila do Conde, and Counting Stars, with the support of a wide network of institutional partners, including the Mar de Experiências project, the Portuguese Plastics Pact, Águas do Norte, Focus On Critical Action (FOCA), and DOCAPESCA.
