This beach clean-up is jointly organised by the partners of the BluePoint project as part of our commitment to the #EUBeachCleanup2026 initiative. Partners across different regions will carry out coordinated beach clean-ups during, working together to raise awareness about marine plastics and contribute to cleaner and healthier coastal areas. IRELAND – In Ireland, ATU Sligo, PropelorBIC and University of Limerick will organise a beach clean-up at Galway (Cloghmore South), bringing together volunteers and local organisations, to clean-up the marine litter and collect data on the waste found. ATU's EU GREEN European Alliance will also join the event, which is a multi-university network dedicated to embedding sustainability, responsible growth and environmental stewardship into higher education, along with a voluntary group, the Galway cleaners.
