EU Beach Cleanup Nizza di Sicilia 2026

The Municipality of Nizza di Sicilia takes concrete action for the health of the Mediterranean, organising — together with Legambiente and through its Eurodesk Local Point — a beach cleanup along its Ionian coastline, as part of the EU Mission "Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030" and the European Green Deal's zero-pollution ambition.Volunteers will gather at the boundary marked by the local torrente and proceed along the shoreline, removing plastic and other waste materials from the beach — a direct, hands-on action to protect the marine ecosystems that define this territory's identity and economy.This is part of a structured municipal strategy on environmental sustainability and European citizenship, engaging residents, young people and local associations. By joining the global #EUBeachCleanup movement, Nizza di Sicilia stands as an active protagonist in the Ionian coast corridor — alongside Alì Terme, Fiumedinisi and neighbouring municipalities.
