Let's Clean up Our Beaches

On 27 August 2026, at 08:00, the tourism promotion association Manduria d’aMARE, with the moral patronage of the Municipality of Manduria and EUROPE DIRECT Taranto, is organising the first edition of the “Beach Clean-Up” along the coast of Manduria, a day of collective beach cleaning open to all citizens. The meeting point is Piazza delle Perdonanze in San Pietro in Bevagna. After a brief introduction and greetings, participants will move towards the Specchiarica and Borraco areas to collect litter left on the beach and in the surrounding areas. The group will be joined by marine biologist Greta Nembrini, who will provide further insight into local biodiversity and answer participants’ questions. At the end of the activity, the collected waste will be weighed and sorted correctly. This is event is also part of the European Climate Pact. Participation is free of charge and open to all, including citizens, families, associations and local operators. No specific experience is required (although participants are advised to bring hats and sun cream). The organisers will provide water, gloves, and bags for separate waste collection.
