Together for the Protection of Marine Species and Coastal Dune Ecosystems

This event is an initiative organised by the SAMESEA and PREBIODUNES projects, both part of the IPA ADRION Thematic Cluster 6 – “Biodiversity and Natural MARINE Habitat Conservation.”

The event brings together citizens, experts and local communities to promote the protection of marine biodiversity and coastal dune ecosystems through hands-on activities and environmental awareness.

The programme begins with an introduction to the two projects and the objectives of the Thematic Cluster. Participants will then join a collective beach clean-up, actively contributing to the preservation of the coastal environment, followed by a guided visit to the dune habitat, where experts will explain its ecological importance and the best practices for its conservation. The afternoon concludes with practical simulations on how to respond if a stranded marine animal or a sea turtle nest is found. Participants will learn who to contact, which actions should be avoided, and how to contribute responsibly to the protection of marine wildlife. Open to everyone, the event offers a unique opportunity to combine citizen engagement, environmental education and practical conservation actions for the benefit of Adriatic coastal ecosystems.
