For and From the Baltic: Navigating the Future of Fisheries with Ecosystem-Based Management

Join us for an extraordinary event hosted by ICES and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE) that will bring together the brightest minds in marine science, resource management, and policy-making to explore the future of ecosystem-based fisheries management (EBFM) in the Baltic Sea. ​​​

This event will be integrated within the ICES Annual Science Conference 2025, scheduled to take place 15-18 September, in Klaipėda, Lithuania. The 2025 Annual Science Conference is a flagship event of ICES, bringing together hundreds of marine scientists from around the world to share innovative research, share ideas, and build lasting collaborations.   • Keynote & high-level roundtable: Hear from leaders at ICES, DG MARE, and other prominent organisations as they share their insights on the latest advancements and future directions in marine science and management.
  • Panel discussions & interactive sessions: Engage with experts as they address regional challenges, opportunities, and the pivotal role EBFM can play in the sustainable recovery of the Baltic.
  • Short presentations by leaders and scientists: Gain a balanced view of the current state of the Baltic, including key findings from the ICES Annual Science Conference.
