The Council of the European Union reached a political agreement on the fishing opportunities in the Baltic Sea for 2026, following the Commission proposal made in August this year.

The European Commission has published two technical guidance documents to support EU countries in improving their systems for monitoring and controlling the engine power of fishing vessels.

Once a symbol of overfishing, bluefin tuna is now regarded as one of the Mediterranean’s greatest recovery stories.
