COP27 European Union side events

COP27 takes place from 6 to 18 November in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt and online. You can register for, and participate in, over 130 events online.

The 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 27) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will take place from 6 to 18 November 2022 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt and online.

The EU is hosting +130 side events that you can follow over the two-week summit.

The Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries is involved in the following side-event.

1) High-level panel announcing the launch of a new Blue Med Partnership

Date: Tuesday 8 November, from 10:00 to 11:00 (on site in the Mediterranean Pavilion and online)

The European Commission, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) are laying the first stone of the Blue Med Partnership, which aims to support the development of sustainable blue economy in the European Union’s Southern Neighbourhood countries in the Mediterranean region. It aims to bring together international donors, beneficiary countries, interested financial institutions and philanthropies to support policy reforms, attract donor funding and mobilise public and private financing for projects initially in Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia.
