The EU4Ocean initiative will amplifiy ongoing OL efforts by connecting organisations, projects and people. It is EU’s contribution to ocean literacy and a call for action to all citizens to engage for more sustainable oceans.

Ocean Literacy (OL) is "the understanding of human influence on the ocean and the ocean’s influence on people”. OL objectives are to increase awareness of the state of the ocean and provide tools and approaches that can transform ocean knowledge into actions that promote ocean sustainability.
