The EUMOFA Talks webinar series continues with an event based on its newly-released study about the impact of seafood imports on the EU small-scale coastal fleet. The webinar will take place at 10:00 am, Tuesday 27 April.

The webinar, moderated by Valentina Sannino (COGEA/EUMOFA), will present EUMOFA’s recently released study "Impact of seafood imports on the EU small-scale coastal fleet".

The panel of experts will feature authors of the study and European Commission (DG MARE) experts.

Griffin Carpenter, EUMOFA expert, will introduce a discussion on how the EU’s role as the world’s largest seafood importer brings a large volume and variety of seafood to European consumers, as well as its impact on the EU’s own production.

Raymond Maes (European Commission - DG MARE), will provide an overview of the EU’s small-scale coastal fleet (SSCF), which is made up of vessels under 12 meters in length that use passive gear.

Sebastian Metz, EUMOFA expert, will present case studies from the study.

It will be possible to interact with the speakers during the seminar. The Talk is free, but please register here to receive the link to join.
