Cruise tourism

The first priority area of the “Coastal and Maritime Strategy” of 2014 highlights “opportunities for cruise tourism”.

Objectives

Our aim is to support a process that leads towards more sustainable cruise tourism in Europe, in line with and contributing to the objectives of the European Green Deal.

  1. March 2022

    The 2nd Pan-European Cruise Dialogue with leading cruise stakeholders was held in Brussels.

  2. April 2020

    The decision of the European Commission to finance the preparatory action 'Good practices for a sustainable cruise tourism'.

  3. November 2019

    To assess the possible actions that would promote sustainable cruise tourism in Europe, the European Parliament requested the Commission to carry out a preparatory action on cruise tourism.
