This project aims to foster the growth of new and existing companies in the sector. Key activities include the development of an Aquaculture Innovation Studio to accelerate the growth of start-ups through mentorship, technical support, and access to industry expertise. The programme actively seeks to attract foreign companies to set up operations in Ireland, leveraging a strong national network of universities, research centres, and state bodies.
Additionally, the programme is creating the Ireland Aquaculture Fund to provide crucial financial backing to start-ups, reducing reliance on state support, and encouraging private investment. The programme aspires to build a vibrant ecosystem that fosters technological advancements, drives job creation across regional centres, and solidifies Ireland’s standing as a leader in global aquaculture innovation.
