©Markku Saiha The Aquaculture Innovation Programme included six work packages, one of which focused on the development of knowledge and training to meet the needs of the sector. Among the ten partners of the project led by the Finnish Institute for Natural Research, Livia Vocational College reviewed existing aquaculture learning resources and developed comprehensive new materials for use by educational institutions and companies. These resources are available in a public online learning environment, alongside a newly established aquaculture training facility in the Livia Vocational college. The University of Jyväskylä identified sectoral skills needs, carried out a study on aquaculture education in the Nordic countries, organised a five-day international summer school on recirculating aquaculture, and supported various master's theses on the theme in cooperation with the Laukaa Fish Farm.
