Fish facilities powered renewably

A Croatian fishers' cooperation 'OMEGA 3' becomes energy self-sustaining through the installation of solar panels on its fish processing facility.

Croatia is using EMFF funds to foster more environmentally sustainable energy usage in the fisheries and aquaculture sector through the installation of solar panels at processing facilities.

Results

  • Installed a solar power plant on the roof of Ribarska zadruga OMEGA 3’s production facility, with an output power of 499 kW.
  • Included 40 arrays of 18 modules, 29 arrays of 19 modules, and 3 arrays of 20 modules, totalling 1 331 photovoltaic modules in the system.
  • Achieved a forecasted CO2 emission factor of 0.33 kg CO2/kWh and a projected annual reduction of 203.36 tons.
