Thanks to its extensive experience in trout farming, the family launched a modern aquaculture farm from the ground-up, built specifically for rainbow trout growth.

The investments enabled the family to build 16 circular breeding ponds, a recreational fishing pond, and other essential infrastructures like turbine and incubation buildings, advanced water and energy infrastructure, fences and administrative offices. To ensure efficient and sustainable aquaculture operations, the farm is equipped with advanced equipment such as hydro turbine, solar panels, incubation gear, vacuum packer, smoker and oximeter. Recognising the potential for tourism, parallel investments were made including five tourist cottages and other dedicated facilities for visitors.

By boosting aquaculture and diversifying into fishing tourism, this project is increasing local tourism, creating jobs, and supporting local development in Rebrișoara.

Results

  • 3 jobs have been already created by this project.
  • The farm is set to produce at least 20 tons of trout annually, from roe to fish ready for consumption.
