#EUBeachCleanup in Portugal 2024

Cleaning the banks of the Selho River and installing two eco-barriers (to retain floating trash) in the Selho River, within the Union of Parishes of Candoso S. Tiago and Mascotelos, and the Parish of Creixomil in the municipality of Guimarães, Portugal. These activities will be supported by green volunteers from each participating parish. This initiative is part of the "CLEANUP4Guimarães - Innovative CLEANing of Unprecedented contamination of Plastic waste from rivers in Guimarães (Portugal)" project, conducted under the European REMEDIES program, which aims to create a multi-stakeholder ecosystem centered on citizen participation. The goal is to promote inter-cooperation, innovation, and entrepreneurship in cleaning the rivers of Guimarães municipality, protecting biodiversity, and improving the recycling process of collected plastic waste.
