The aim of this project is to create an autonomous survey vessel that significantly reduces the need for large survey vessels.

The Lapland fisheries LAG has financed a fisheries recruitment and training project to rejuvenate the ageing fisheries sector in the area around the Lokka and Porttipahta reservoirs. As a result, 14 young people of both genders have started to fish.

This fisheries LAG project helped a family-run company that produces, harvests, and encourages consumption of a sea vegetable known as sugar kelp to insulate the farm shop and build a new drying facility to increase production capacity.

Coastal fishers have teamed up with three fisheries Local Action Groups (LAGs) to sustainably manage the local fisheries and ensure the fishers’ livelihood in the future. At the same time, they have developed an app, ProPesca, to facilitate the lives of the coastal fishers.

The Vistikhetmaar project has created an independent web-based knowledge platform of relevant scientific information. The platform is continuously updated to present the most up-to-date information from science and industry on various aspects of sustainable fisheries.

This fisheries LAG project has allowed a small company to scale up its production of algae and develop supply chains across the country.
