A small-scale fisher in France used EU funds to convert from trawling gear to seine to practice more artisanal fishing that respects the environment and the seabed.

Two artificial reefs have led to improved fishing potential and are allowing for thorough research on the feasibility and impact of developing such areas. This reef project is currently the only one of its kind in the Baltic Sea to have provided data over such a long time period.
